is adding some exciting new content for the holidays that players won’t want to miss. While it seems is constantly adding new content, the nice thing about this year’s new holiday items is that they’re absolutely free. This is a pleasant change of pace given that players are usually expected to pay even for minor additions like Stuff Packs.
In addition to some new items, is getting a series of new quests involving holiday-themed events for Sims to participate in. These events add some unique cultural flair to ’s holiday celebrations, and even some new Create a Sim assets. Any player who wants to experience the new holiday content can do so following the most recent update.
As announced on the official EA website, is featuring two quests each week during the holiday leadup, each offering some new in-game content as a reward. This week’s first quest gives players a chance to win a Cozy Festive Wreath, a Festive Hedge Starter, and a Festive Hedge Row to start decorating the exterior of their homes for the holidays. The second quest will offer a new welcome mat depicting some snowy trees, and a Slick Panel Jacket for Sims to wear.
The Sims 4’s neighborhoods still have a huge immersion-breaking problem that only exists because of an outdated restriction that shouldn’t be there.
There are six quests in total over the next three weeks, each with one or two unique rewards. Perhaps the most exciting of these is the new Grouch trait that players can give their Sims to turn them into a bona fide Scrooge. This distribution method of new content is itself festive, as it acts almost like a digital Advent calendar, slowly doling out new items each week to get players excited for the holidays.
In addition to ’s holiday quests and new items, the game is also introducing a series of new holiday traditions, inspired by celebrations from around the globe. The first region of the world being highlighted is Eastern Europe through the addition of two new recipes, Mămăligă and Mucenici.
