Will Trent Season 3 Trailer: Gina Rodriguez Joins Cast of ABC Procedural
Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin, Not Dead Yet) makes her debut in the newly released trailer for Season 3, teasing Ramón Rodriguez’s return as the titular special agent after the shocking Season 2 finale.
The police procedural series, based on Karin Slaughter’s bestselling novels, follows Georgia Bureau of Investigation special agent Wilbur “Will” Trent, who — after a difficult childhood in foster care — makes sure no one has to endure abandonment as he did as a child.
The trailer highlights the events after Will disappeared for six months as a result of arresting his girlfriend Angie (Erika Christensen) during the final moments of Season 2. In his return, Will faces new beginnings, as he works alongside Marion Alba (played by Rodriguez) in a missing persons case. While Will may not be over Angie after everything that has happened, the trailer ends with Will reintroducing himself, “Let’s be clear: it’s Special Agent Will Trent.”

In addition to the Jane the Virgin alum, the upcoming season will also introduce reality star Ariana Madix (Vanderpump Rules) as herself and Scott Foley as “the confident and down-to-earth head of emergency” Dr. Seth McDale. Returning cast members include Jake McLaughlin as Michael Ormewood, Sonja Sohn as Amanda Wagner, Erika Christensen as Angela Polaski, and Iantha Richardson as Faith Mitchell, among others.

Will Trent is created and executive produced by Liz Heldens and Daniel Thomsen, with Ramón and the book’s author serving as the show’s executive producer alongside Oly Obst, Howard Deutch, and Ellen Marie Blum.
Will Trent Season 3 premieres on Tuesday, January 7, at 8/7c. The first two seasons are available to stream on Hulu.
