Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba — The Hinokami Chronicles is getting a sequel — and we can't say that we're surprised.
Released for PS5 and PS4 in 2021, The Hinokami Chronicles adapts the early story arcs of super-popular manga and anime property Demon Slayer into the form of an arena fighter. It was developed by CyberConnect2, the studio behind the Naruto Ninja Storm games, and the mechanical similarities are clear to see.
It's a decent brawler, but as we said in our review, it felt like a foundation for a bigger and better sequel. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba — The Hinokami Chronicles 2 should be that sequel.

However, there's nothing of the project to show just yet. It'll debut at Jump Festa 2025 — which takes place in Japan later this month, on the 21st and 22nd of December. Platforms will no doubt be confirmed during the event as well.

Robert (or Rob if you're lazy) is an assistant editor of Push Square, and has been a fan of PlayStation since the 90s, when Tekken 2 introduced him to the incredible world of video games. He still takes his fighting games seriously, but RPGs are his true passion. The Witcher, Persona, Dragon Quest, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy, Trails, Tales — he's played 'em all. A little too much, some might say.
Really enjoyed the first one, so I am looking forward to this.
Need to get back to the first one, started with the story mode, and then realized how closely it followed the arcs and just was not in the mood at the time. I will dive back in at some point next year I am sure.
They should just wait until the finale movies are out and have all the characters in the series available for the roster, but I guess they wouldn't be able to sell a whole bunch of DLC if they did that.
I'm surprised they haven't milked this series into oblivion at this point
@Drago201 Probably because the manga already ended 4 years ago
