This SoP has potential to be quite an exciting one. I had forgotten all about Lost Soul Aside, but I recall it looked surprisingly good that last time we saw it.
Honestly, I thought 2025 would be all about Death Stranding 2 and Ghost of Yotei (which are definitely high on the hype list still) but there’s some good looking smaller projects that could garner interest like LSA, Clair Obscur, and Split Fiction, and Where Winds Meet. It’s unfortunate that Sony has taken so long to get the first party output going because the market is getting really saturated with good content from the third party. I don’t have particular interest in some of them, but games like MH Wilds will be huge, KCD2 is a darling already, AC Shadows is going to probably attract some attention, Doom The Dark Ages, and now Xbox is poised to drop a load of their games like Indiana Jones and maybe many other legacy titles this year. It’s more competitive than ever and it would have been nice to get some of these first party games spread out the last year or two.
Either way, there’s no substitute for that first party shine, so it will be a gaming feast no matter what.
@nomither6 I guess you could put that under Dreaming. I don’t think we’ll get anything on Sly this gen.
@Enriesto ouch
@nomither6 I’d be very happy to be wrong, I love the Sly trilogy. I’m not sure who they (Sony) would hand the IP off to. Maybe Media Molecule? That’s why I think it’s a while coming if it exists, it would be a studio that’s not currently working on a bigger SIE ip and so it’d likely be early in development. I hope I’m wrong! Even a remake/remaster package of some kind would be Day 1 for me.
Reveals I'm hyped for: Digimon Story: Time Stranger, Days Gone Remastered, Tides of Annihilation, and Saros.
Games with dates I am tracking: Lost Soul Aside, Split Fiction, Hell Is Us, MindsEye.
I'm also excited that Lost Records: Bloom & Rage Episode 1 is «free» with PS+ Extra/Premium.
