As it stands, Avowed is not confirmed for PS5.
Xbox Game Studios developer Obsidian has announced it’ll release The Outer Worlds 2 day-and-date on Sony’s system, after initially revealing it as a console exclusive – but its all-new RPG will release on Xbox Series X|S and PC only.
Of course, with Microsoft seemingly in the process of porting its entire catalogue to PS5, some fans think they’ve spotted a telling nod from game director Carrie Patel in an interview with MinnMaxx.
In a rapid-fire Q&A, host Ben Hanson attempts to catch out Patel by joking “Avowed is obviously coming to PS5 at some point”. As she listens to Hanson speak, she smiles and nods before raising her eyebrows.
While some are taking this as confirmation, it’s just a little gag, and Patel is clearly on the spot. That said, with Microsoft bringing games like Forza Horizon 5 and Age of Empires 2 to the PS5, it wouldn’t exactly be a surprise.
We suspect the delay here may be due to Xbox’s changing strategy; some titles preceded the publisher’s multiformat plan, and therefore don’t have ports ready to go. It means, if it is indeed coming, we may have to wait a few months for Avowed, much in the same way as we’re currently waiting for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Microsoft has 0 interest in making anything exclusive to Xbox anymore. So yes, it'll be coming to PS5. BET!
It's amazing how many articles here now are about Xbox games coming to PS5.
