RGG Studio has revealed a new Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii trailer today that's designed to set up the plot of the wild Majima-focused game. AEW wrestler Samoa Joe, who plays pirate king Laymond Law in the game, provides the narration. Check it out above.
The PS5, PS4 game takes place after the events of Infinite Wealth and is part of the series' official canon, so long-time fans will want to pay attention to its events as we await the next big instalment. Fan favourite Goro Majima wakes up on an island with amnesia, so he sets sail in search of his memories, secret treasure, and Madlantis. The latter is the home of everything pirate in the Like a Dragon franchise, and sort of acts as the main hub for the title.
We played the game in a two-hour hands on session last month, and called it an «absurd, great twist» on the usual trials and tribulations of Kiryu and Ichiban. «Despite the clear ties it holds — in both content and story — with last year's instalment, Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii pretty comfortably carves out something to call its own.»
Hands on impressions after two hours of play
