EA has revealed the next Battlefield game it's planning to test with the public in Battlefield Labs will release before April 2026. The news comes from the publisher's third-quarter earnings results, where it stated the new title has an «expected fiscal year 2026 release». This is a time period starting in April 2025 and finishing at the end of March 2026.
A very short glimpse of the new entry was shared at the end of the video confirming Battlefield Labs, which is accepting sign-ups now. EA DICE is looking to test «the pillars of play, like core combat and destruction. Then transition to balance and feedback for our weapons, vehicles and gadgets, ultimately leading to where all these pieces come together in our maps, modes, and squad play.»
Four internal teams at EA are coming together to form Battlefield Studios (DICE, Motion, Criterion, and Ripple Effect), and are collectively producing the next game. Criterion is best known for the recent Need for Speed games, and it's put that series on ice to fully focus on the FPS series.
Since EA hasn't even started its public testing phase with Battlefield Labs, the new game isn't expected to release until the end of the year at the very least. It'll more than likely launch in the first few months of 2026 barring any delays, based on this new release window.
