Having released just yesterday at the time of writing this article, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has moved 1 million copies right off the bat.
This kind of result seemed inevitable, given the game's explosive popularity on PC (which has been plain for all to see thanks to Steam's player tracking data).
«We're beyond grateful for your support,» writes developer Warhorse Studios on social media. «Thank you for making Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 a triumph!»
Thy Kingdom Come, thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven
We don't really know how many copies the RPG needs to sell in order to make any kind of substantial profit — but it's clearly off to a very healthy start. This sequel was in development for roughly five years, and it's more ambitious than the first game in almost every way.
Speaking of which, the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance — which launched in 2018 — has sold 8 million copies to date. There's still a long way to go, then, but we wouldn't be at all surprised to see Deliverance 2 make an appearance across various sales charts over the coming weeks — especially when positive word of mouth takes hold.
Still, it's a demanding, hardcore RPG — and that isn't for everyone. At least in a commercial sense, it'll be interesting to see how it fares over the course of 2025.

A little too much, some might say.
The hype is real
