Dexter: Resurrection is the forthcoming Paramount+ With Showtime series that is set in the present day and will once again see Michael C. Hall reprise his role as the titular Dexter Morgan. The show is currently in production and is expected to premiere sometime this summer.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, Dinklage has been tapped to play a character named Leon Prater, who is a “billionaire venture capitalist,” in Dexter: Resurrection.
“To the world, Leon is a generous philanthropist, but behind his polished exterior lies dark intrigue,” the character description further reads.
Dinklage is best known for playing Tyrion Lannister in HBO’s Game of Thrones. He also portrays Eitri in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and voices Doctor Dillamond in the Wicked movies. His filmography further includes 2003’s Elf, 2008’s The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, 2021’s Cyrano, 2023’s The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, and 2024’s Brothers, among other titles.
Specific plot details for Dexter: Resurrection remain under wraps at this time. Pulp Fiction’s Uma Thurman has been cast as a character named Charley, while the series will also welcome back David Zayas as Detective Angel Batista, Jack Alcott as Harrison Morgan, and James Remar as Harry Morgan.
Dexter officially concluded in 2013, following eight seasons. There have been several spin-off series since then, with Hall reprising his role in Dexter: New Blood, which premiered in November 2021. Dexter: Original Sin, meanwhile, premiered in December 2024, while the season finale will be released this coming Friday. That show serves as a prequel to the original series and stars Patrick Gibson as a young Dexter Morgan.
An official premiere date for Dexter: Resurrection has not yet been announced.
