Mortal Kombat fans are eager to see the return of one particular character in the upcoming Mortal Kombat 13, Takeda Takahashi. Players have taken to social media to express their desire for Takeda to make a comeback, noting his unique fighting style and intriguing backstory as reasons why he deserves a spot on the roster.
Takeda was first introduced to the Mortal Kombat universe in Mortal Kombat X, released back in 2015. The character is the son of Kenshi, a blind swordsman who appeared in several previous Mortal Kombat games. Takeda took on his father's sword fighting skills, but also developed the ability to manipulate energy, making him a formidable opponent in battle.

In addition to his combat abilities, Takeda's backstory has clearly also captured the attention of Mortal Kombat fans. Takeda was part of a group known as the Kombat Kids who were trained by the legendary fighter Scorpion. Takeda's relationship with Scorpion was particularly interesting, as the two characters had a mentor-student dynamic which added a certain amount of depth and complexity to both of their personalities.
Despite his popularity among players, Takeda was notably absent from Mortal Kombat 11, released in 2019. This left countless fans of the series disappointed and many have been clamoring for his return ever since. The user on Reddit going by the name of Azn_Assassin15 for example recently started a thread in which they expressed their desire for Takeda to be included in Mortal Kombat 13. The post quickly gained traction, with many fans agreeing that Takeda was a unique and interesting character who deserved a spot on the roster.
