Takeda was first introduced to the Mortal Kombat universe in Mortal Kombat X, released back in 2015. The character is the son of Kenshi, a blind swordsman who appeared in several previous Mortal Kombat games. Takeda took on his father's sword fighting skills, but also developed the ability to manipulate energy, making him a formidable opponent in battle.
