Physical versions of Star Wars Jedi Survivor, the second entry in the series launching later this week on PC and consoles worldwide, may require an additional download to play, according to a new picture that's been making the rounds.
As reported on the game's subreddit, the retail versions of the game feature a "download required" notice on the cover art. It's not clear how much players will have to download to play their physical copies, but this is still disappointing to learn, even more if the main campaign cannot even start without this additional download.

The fact that physical copies of Star Wars Jedi Survivor may require an additional download to play isn't too surprising, considering the game's file size, which will be close to 150 GB on PlayStation 5 and 140 GB on Xbox Series X. As the Xbox Series S size is much smaller, only 44GB, it is likely that the bigger size of the other console versions may be due to higher quality assets.
Star Wars Jedi Survivor is setting out to be a much bigger game than its predecessor and a more intense experience overall. Like the previous entry in the series, the new game from Respawn will be a game that will speak to all fans of the franchise. The second entry in the series is also a result of the efforts both Lucasfilm and Respawn made in the past to earn each other trust, which also resulted in Lucasfilm allowing Respawn to have a Jedi main character, something the company wasn't very keen on at the start.
