It almost goes without saying at this point that there's a Mortal Kombat 12 reveal coming soon. While nothing official has been confirmed just yet, series creator Ed Boon has been teasing news ever since Warner Bros. Discovery casually revealed MK12 will be here before the end of 2023. Just to make the wait for something tangible even more infuriating, Boon now seems to be teasing that something more from MK's Shaolin Monks spin-off is, at the very least, something he's considering.
“Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks needs a...” Boon tweeted, giving fans the option of choosing between a sequel or a remaster. Full transparency, as someone who didn't experience the Shaolin Monks hype in the moment, I voted remaster, and right now remaster is winning. If you'd prefer to see the Shaolin Monks story continued rather than revisited, you've got until Tuesday night to pay Boon's poll a visit to try and sway the vote. It's pretty close right now.

Shaolin Monks launched in 2005, bridging the gap between Mortal Kombats Deception and Armageddon. Massively different from the fighting games that make up the 11 installments in the main MK series, Shaolin Monks gave players the chance to dive deeper into the story of Mortal Kombat 2, taking control of one or two monks, as it has co-op, on a beat 'em up journey that clearly left a mark on a lot of you who have played it.
