Bruce Campbell doesn't want Ash Williams to be a guest character in Mortal Kombat 12, and instead thinks that other horror characters should be added to Evil Dead: The Game.
We may not have an official announcement yet, but thanks to an investor call from earlier in the year, we know that Mortal Kombat 12 is a surefire thing that's likely to be announced in the near future. That's got everyone thinking about what guest characters could be making their way to the tournament this time around, but it looks like we can discount one fan-favourite from the ballot - Evil Dead's Ash Williams.

For those who don't remember the days of Mortal Kombat 11 (you should, it was only a few years ago), references to Ash Williams were found in the game at launch, suggesting he would feature in the first Kombat Pack. This was then teased further with the sound of a chainsaw at the end of the Shang Tsung gameplay trailer, but for reasons that are still unknown to this day, it never came to pass and we instead got The Joker.
Now that Mortal Kombat 12 is almost definitely on the way, a lot of Evil Dead fans are hoping that Ash might get a second chance at being a guest fighter, but it looks like it's not going to be happening. In a recent interview with The A.V. Club about Evil Dead Rise, Campbell is asked whether he'd like to see Ash Williams appear in Mortal Kombat 12, considering how many fans want him to, and he responded by suggesting that he's not "interested in loaning Ash out" and that they should show up in Evil Dead: The Game.
