Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 packs in several Metal Gear games for fans to enjoy on modern platforms. However, there’s a debate as to whether the series’ creator is even mentioned in the credits for each game.
The confusion about whether or not Hideo Kojima is in the Master Collection originates from the fact that the Metal Gear creator was quietly dismissed from Konami following the launch of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The company has never satisfactorily addressed this situation, leading most fans to believe Kojima wouldn’t be associated with the Master Collection in any way.

Is Hideo Kojima Mentioned in Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 Credits?
We’re pleased to report that, yes, Hideo Kojima is mentioned in the opening credits for Metal Gear Solid in Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1. We saw reports leading up to the game’s launch stating that he wasn’t mentioned in the ending credits, which we haven’t had a chance to check yet.
He’s actually in the first game twice before players even get to the Helipad. This is because he played multiple roles on the development team, but part of us thinks he also just wants to be in the game several times.
However, the fact that he’s credited at the game’s start is incredible and would make up for his name being removed from the ending credits if that’s the case. Given that these games appear to be a straight port with no changes, we’d expect Hideo Kojima’s name to appear in all of them.
