Owners of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will officially be able to play Resident Evil Village on their devices when the AAA title becomes available tomorrow, October 30. To help you evaluate your purchasing decision, one YouTuber received early access of the game, and he appears to be quite impressed with what he tried out. Not only does Resident Evil Village maintain a consistent 60FPS with the full HD+ resolution enabled, but you are also provided with a host of graphical settings that you can tweak to get more performance.
Previously, it was demonstrated that Resident Evil Village can be played on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max using an external monitor through the USB-C port, but the resolution and framerate were limited to 1560 by 720 and 30FPS, respectively. Now, YouTuber Datura Plays received an early access key from Capcom to try out the new game, and when playing using the smartphone’s display, the visual quality, according to him, is exceptional.
Best of all, just like what PC gamers can view when tweaking the graphics settings, iPhone owners can see these options too. There is also a MetalFX upscaling option that works similarly to NVIDIA’s DLSS and AMD’s FSR, with ‘Quality’ and ‘Performance’ settings available to determine what kind of experience the user would like.
Aside from that, the YouTuber showed that Resident Evil Village can be played on the 2340 x 1080 and 2796 x 1290 resolutions, but for a consistent 60FPS, it is recommended that players lower this setting since it can hammer the framerate massively. Capcom’s survival horror title also shows the available video RAM. On the iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max, you have a 6GB headroom to get the best possible visual experience.
