Known Japanese game industry analyst, Serkan Toto, might have hinted at a Switch Zelda Remaster or Remake for later this year.
Yesterday, Toto took to Twitter with a rather cryptic tweet - "Z R 2023", the tweet read. Most wouldn't read that much into this tweet, which has already been deleted as well. Interestingly enough, however, is that Toto made a similar-looking tweet back in 2021 predicting the release date of Tears of the Kingdom, then called Breath of the Wild 2. "Z2 22", Toto tweeted back in 2021 when the June 2021 E3 Direct was announced. Oddly enough, this initial tweet from 2021 has also been deleted. With "Z" apparently referring to Zelda in Toto's 2021 tweet, it would only make sense that the analyst is now again referring to the franchise, this time followed by an "R" and "2023". Speculating, this "R" might very well refer to either a remaster or a remake of an older Zelda title which would release in the coming months.
Of course, this is all speculating at this point, and Toto could also have meant Nintendo's FY23, which runs through March 2024. On the other hand, Nintendo isn't unknown with shadow-dropping major titles - back in 2020, the company shadow-announced Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, and more recently, Nintendo shadow-dropped the Metroid Prime remake.
Whatever Toto's cryptic tweet means remains to be seen, but we're still hoping for Nintendo to release remasters or ports of The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. Both titles have been heavily rumored to be still coming to the Switch, but an announcement was never made. Of course, we could also be looking at something entirely different, possibly a remaster or remake of A Link of the Past in the same vein as 2019's Link's
