The World of Warcraft team will hold a special PTR play session with the community to prepare for the upcoming Embers of Neltharion update. The test will take place on March 31st and help the devs to test out a few things PvP related.
The event will take place on the Embers of Neltharion PTR on Friday, starting at 3 PM PDT /6 PM EDT. You can find the dev group via the Group Finder. The first hour will be random Battlegrounds, followed by an hour of Rated Solo Shuffle.
The point of this test is to help the team with PvP play, PvP items, and other aspects of PvP combat, including changes coming in the patch and talents. The announcement asks that before participating in the test, to be ready and geared up for PvP, since that is the point of the test.
“We’ll be observing and looking for feedback on general PvP combat, and we’re particularly interested in feedback on our new and updated PvP talents and ourchanges to crowd control.”
The upcoming changes that they’re testing follow community feedback on crowd control, and a revamp is starting in Embers of Neltharion . What this will look like includes things like targeted adjustments on some of the CC durations, to balance between meaningful and something that limits options to counter too much.
This week, the team has updated the PvP gear and profession vendors on the PTR,so they recommend using the Season 2 gear for this test to be at a similar starting point (and of course, test out the gear too). “Additionally, please check out the various other gear and profession vendors in Orgrimmar and Stormwind to utilize the latest trinkets, gear, and class sets in Embers of Neltharion ,” the announcement concludes.
