No matter where you turn, players have been raving about the art of Diablo IV — down to every snow covered blade of grass swaying in the bitter wind. It's clear that the art team for Diablo IV pulled out all the stops, giving us a darkly beautiful hellscape to play through as we scour Sanctuary for Lilith and her demonic hordes. The normal top down view of gameplay wasn't enough for the Diablo IV team, though — that didn't quite do enough justice to some of their works of art.
Keen eyed players may have noticed, in certain important locations, a small demonic rune made of Lilith's blood petals. This rune reacts as you come close — highlighting your link to Lilith — and allows players to change their perspective for absolutely breathtaking artistic shots. Players likely felt an imposing presence on their way into the Alabaster Monastery, for good reason — Inarius himself awaited inside.
The sheer size of this location is lost on the player without the change of perspective, and it absolutely shouldn't be missed. Holy icons of the Church of the Light rise above the frozen parapets of the monastery gate as the towers themselves loom in the distance, too large for mortal eyes to make out the details from the ground. As the wind whips around you, it wouldn't be unusual to feel the urge to return to Vigo and the fire instead of pressing onwards.
As players journey with Neyrelle to find her mother, a small corner hides an easy to miss perspective change. Overlooking the Black Lake, players are greeted with the ominous dark waters and faintly pulsing runes of the sanctum around them. A proper sense of dread hangs over this scene: you can almost feel the impending despair that awaits for you and your companion below.
