Update []: Well, the new Digimon game is real, and it is called Digimon Story: Time Stranger. It's coming to PS5 at some point this year.
Graphically, it looks like a real step up from the previous Digimon Story titles, and as the name suggests, it's all about solving the mysteries of distorted timelines alongside your digimon allies. It's officially described as a turn-based RPG.
Original Story: A new Digimon Story title has been leaked via a pre-order listing on GameStop's official website.
Spotted by Gematsu on X, the page doesn't tell us much right now. The game is apparently called Digimon Story: Time Stranger, and it's coming to PS5.
The timing of this leak suggests that an announcement is imminent — and with a fresh State of Play being broadcast tonight, there's a chance that this new Digimon adventure is getting a big reveal. If it does happen, we'll be sure to update this article.
Dates, times, and what to expect
The most recent Digimon Story games have been very enjoyable. 2016's Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth was a well received, turn-based RPG with a heavy emphasis on discovering and subsequently training your own party of digimon.
Its follow-up, 2018's Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth — Hacker's Memory, was essentially a retread in terms of gameplay, but it expanded upon the existing story from a different character's perspective. Here's hoping that this supposed Time Stranger game hits the same highs as its predecessors.
