Update []: Following the Xbox Store leak on Monday, it's been confirmed that Hell Is Us will indeed release for PS5 on 4th September 2025. You can check out the new trailer above.
Original Story: The brutal, exploration-focused action title Hell Is Us may be part of the rumoured State of Play livestream that's widely speculated to take place later this week. The Xbox Store has pushed live a pre-order page for a Deluxe Edition priced at $80. Then, the Twitter account PlayStation Game Size — which scans the backend of the PS Store for new uploads and updates — has posted a release date of 4th September 2025.
The profile suggests the Deluxe Edition will release four days earlier on 1st September, which lines up with a description found on the Xbox Store page: «Preorder the Deluxe Edition of Hell is Us to unlock the game 72 hours early for free and to receive a free, exclusive cosmetic items pack for Remi and his drone KAPI.» At the time of writing, the PS Store only has a standard wishlist function — there's no option to pre-order yet.
Hell Is Us was originally announced almost three years ago, but made a bigger splash more recently in a State of Play showcase last September. You'll be left entirely to your own devices to work out what you do and where to go. Here's how developer Rogue Factor puts it:
«No map, no compass, no quest markers: following your instincts is part of the adventure. Enjoy a unique experience that uses innovative writing and level design to let you make your own decisions and follow your instincts as you explore. Your discoveries are yours alone.»
It's officially slated to release for PS5 in 2025, but a final release date may be confirmed by the end of this week. Do you like the look of Hell Is Us? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
