Supermassive Games, the original creator of Until Dawn, has been a bit hit or miss since its breakout PS4 hit. But Directive 8020 looks like a brilliant narrative adventure.
This one looks like a mix between Alien and The Thing, as a ragtag crew of astronauts are stalked by a terrifying lifeform which can assume the appearance of its prey.
Here’s what the blurb has to say: “The brave astronauts of the Cassiopeia embark on a deadly mission to save humanity, but their ship is infected by an alien lifeform that perfectly imitates its prey.”
The game’s due out on 2nd October, so it’s definitely one to keep an eye on.

I was sold at Supermassive Sci-Fi
The alien vibes are strong and I'm here for it!
Supermassive sci fi horror? Yup, interested!
I was half-paying attention to this one and I thought it was Alien Isolation 2 and got real excited.
Alien that can mimic people gave me The Thing vibe and it actually looks good.
Can’t wait for “Season 2” of The Dark Pictures Anthology.
This one looks like an amazing start!
This is definitely on my radar.
can't believe it can call scary.
I hope no one uses the phrase “return to form” when describing a dev team and their game ever again, after a certain game has that phrase lose all meaning with every review written. XD
That said, this looks pretty interesting and I’ll be willing to give it a shot! So many good games coming down the road.
I'm interested, but the Dark Pictures games are ultimately disappointing & I can't imagine they will ever reach the level of Until Dawn again. Though copying The Thing is probably an easy way to have a good game. I just wish more of these actors were interesting to me.
