Dead Island 2 has rapidly and somewhat unexpectedly become one of the more intriguing titles on the gaming horizon for us, thanks to positive preview impressions and that banger of a gameplay showcase from a couple of weeks back. It sounds like it will be a somewhat meaty offering for us to sink our teeth into, which is a good thing, too, considering it has been in development for almost a decade.
In an interview with WCCFTech, Dambuster Studios' art director Adam Olsson reveals how long a playthrough of Dead Island 2 is likely to take, noting that «I think we do have guidance stating that if you take part in some secondary missions and other activities, the whole experience is around 20 hours. That's what we have.»
Olsson goes on to mention that number doesn't include fooling around with cooperative multiplayer or searching for collectables, not to mention playing as a different character entirely. The entire piece is a great read if you are interested in Dead Island 2's satirical setting of HELL-A or the gruesome Fully Locational Evisceration System for Humanoids (FLESH) system of procedural dismemberment.

20 hours? wasn't the original dead island much longer than that including side quests?
