A brand new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game inspired by action RPGs such as God of War is in the works, it's been confirmed. The title will be based on the graphic novel The Last Ronin, which told a darker story based on the famous turtles and was released in 2020. The studio making the game hasn't been revealed just yet, but we know the project is still a «few years off» from any sort of release.
Paramount Global's Doug Rosen likened the upcoming TMNT game to Kratos' rebooted PS5, PS4 experiences, with a plot that's authentic to The Last Ronin. While you'll mainly play as a single character, the opportunity to take the reigns as other turtles could be sourced from flashback sequences. It's described as an «ambitious AAA» game, so something fans will likely want to keep their eye on.
Told across five issues, The Last Ronin focuses on just one of the Turtles, as the other three have been murdered by the Foot Clan. A follow-up named The Lost Years is also rolling out across 2023, with two instalments available so far. Are you be interested in this TMNT game? Let us know in the comments below.
