There’s a long, rich history of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles video games, with the most successful adaptations usually harkening back to the lighthearted multiplayer brawlers Konami made in the 80s and 90s. Well, it seems the turtles are going to be trying something a little different. According to a new article from Polygon, a video game adaptation of the acclaimed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin graphic novel is in the works.
For those unfamiliar, TMNT: The Last Ronin was released last year to much critical and fan acclaim (it currently has a 4.8 out of 5 rating on Amazon). The comic takes place in a post-apocalyptic New York where a lone surviving turtle (I won’t spoil which one) attempts to get revenge for the death of his brothers. Here’s an official description…

According to Paramount Global senior vice president for games and emerging media Doug Rosen, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin will have a darker tone to match the book, with Rosen comparing the experience to the new God of War titles. That means it will be a single-player experience, although multiple characters may be playable
