Players Debate Which Nintendo Series Should Be Next In Line For A Film Adaptation
With the stunning success of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and of course The Super Mario Bros. Movie, it’s no wonder that fans have been speculating about the next Nintendo series to get a film adaptation. The popular forum on Resetera has been recently buzzing with discussion about which series should be next in line to hit the silver screen.
The top contender is naturally enough The Legend of Zelda. This already has a massive following in addition to a rich universe that could translate well to film, at least according to many fans. The Legend of Zelda has in fact had some success outside of games, the animated series for example that was released back in 1989.

Another possibility is Metroid. The series has a strong protagonist in Samus and the science fiction setting would make for some stunning visuals. Animal Crossing remains a popular choice, as the series has a cute and charming aesthetic that would appeal to a wide audience, but turning a game that’s all about relaxing and enjoying life into a compelling movie with a traditional narrative could prove difficult.
Fire Emblem is yet another series that could make for a great movie adaptation. The series is widely known for its complex storylines and well developed characters, making it a prime candidate for a dramatic film. As numerous players have noticed, the main issue would be the sheer number of characters and plotlines that would need to be condensed into a coherent structure.
