Resident Evil 4 Remake: How to Open Wayshrines | Push Square
How do you open Wayshrines in Resident Evil 4? As you explore the opening couple of chapters in the game, you'll likely come across a few Wayshrines, which you don't seem to be able to unlock at the time. As part of our Resident Evil 4 Remake guide, we're going to reveal how to open Wayshrines.
You won't be able to unlock Wayshrines and take the rewards inside until Chapter 4. Once you get back on land after the Del Lago boss fight, you'll follow a linear path through a cave network and come out on the other side near a Boat. This can be used to fully explore the Lake, but just before it is a little altar with a briefcase inside. Open it to reveal the Old Wayshrine Key.
You can now return to the Wayshrines you've found and unlock them to claim the contents inside. You'll know you have opened every Wayshrine when you're able to sell the Old Wayshrine Key to the Merchant.
