With the Game Developers Conference in full swing, the winners of the 24th Annual Game Developers Choice Awards (GDCAs) have been announced, featuring Baldur's Gate 3 on the throne.
Larian's cRPG masterpiece brought home four prizes, including the most coveted Game of the Year award and the Audience award. This is, of course, only the latest round of awards for the game based on Dungeons and Dragons. Baldur's Gate 3 has snatched over two hundred GOTY awards so far, including at TGA, Golden Joystick, New York Game Awards, DICE Awards, NAVGTR Awards, Steam, and our own Awards. The game has also enjoyed enormous commercial success, which Larian confirmed has since surpassed 10 million units sold.
The GDC Awards also honored Nintendo's latest Zelda game and Venba, a short narrative cooking game from indie developer Visai Games, with two awards, while Alan Wake 2 and Hi-Fi Rush got one each.
Additionally, composer and pianist Yoko Shimomura (Final Fantasy XV, Xenoblade Chronicles, Kingdom Hearts III, Super Mario RPG) received the Lifetime Achievement award, while the Ambassador Award went to Fawzi Mesmar, who worked on games like Battlefield and Mario + Rabbids. You'll find the full list of winners in each category below.
