Helldivers 2 players have completed another major order - and much faster than the developers intended. Tasked with killing two billion Terminids over the course of five days, players managed to wipe them out in less than a day, completing the event with ease.
This went a lot smoother than other major orders, likely helped by the fact that it was a lot easier for players to accidentally participate in this one. Rather than tasking us with liberating a particular planet and maintaining its security for a set period of time, all we had to do was kill a bunch of bugs. Kills on any Terminid planet counted towards the total, so it didn't matter if you had players running off doing their own thing.
Of course, with this major order completed - and passed with such flying colours - it means that something worse is probably right around the corner. After all, these events are managed by Helldivers 2's "game master" over at developer Arrowhead, simply known as Joel. And Joel won't like it if we grow complacent.
Whatever comes next, we at least have this win to celebrate, and fans will likely be pleased for it after some potentially disappointing news earlier in the week. You better hope that you like the most optimal armour for a mission, otherwise, you're sacrificing a lot just to make your character look cooler.
On top of that, the devs are already at work to remove an exploit that lets players farm Super Credits. This was jokingly referred to as "undemocratic behaviour", and will likely be patched out in a future update.
At the very least, the devs haven't ruled out any crossovers in the future. A community manager added that crossovers with other games would have to "make sense" to the world of Helldivers though, saying that they don't want the game to become like "Kingdom Hearts or
