Before we follow up this gorgeous visual cue with some hard facts, here’s a bit a background on Clockmaker for the uninitiated.
Set in a picturesque Victorian town called Clocksville, Clockmaker is a casual puzzler with a whimsical backstory involving Emma, the heroine, and the Old Clockmaker, a magical villain who places Clocksville under an evil spell.
It’s your task to free Clocksville from this spell by solving tons and tons of matching puzzles.
This means swapping gems around on a grid to bring three or more gems of the same color into contact. The bigger the cluster of gems you make, the better the boost you’ll unlock, allowing you to clear even more gems.
This season of the story sees Emma following a black cat through a portal and ending up in a Japanese town that’s fallen under exactly the same spell as Clocksville.
Moreover, a local game developer called Riguro is alarmed to discover that his game—Clockmaker—has become inexplicably merged with reality. Working together, Emma and Riguro must solve the mystery of their strange entanglement by matching gems.
Clockmaker’s Japanese adventure kicks off on April 19th with the Shores of the East event. All you need to do to take part is complete match-three puzzle stages. You can spend the special tickets you earn on a range of exclusive decorative items.
The Gem-Collecting Tournament begins on April 22nd, challenging you to collect more gems than your fellow players and climb to the very top of the leaderboard.
Lastly, you’ll be able to visit a Temporary Japanese Town from April 25th, where you’ll find all sorts of mysteries, surprises, puzzles, and cool Japanese stuff.
