The blue tunic worn by Link in signifies his position as a Champion, one of a small group representing the very best of Hyrule’s various races. As such, all the Champions wear the same shade of blue in some way, such as Urbosa’s skirt or Daruk’s sash. This uniform replaces the Hero’s Clothes seen in other games, but this isn't the first time Link has had a redesign. The result is perhaps the most distinct design for Link in by far, leaving fans no doubt about precisely which incarnation of Hyrule’s courageous hero he is.
