If you’ve supportedPantheon: Rise of the Fallen within the current pledge system, Visionary Realms has an update on the upcoming Steam Early Access launch.
Along with recent reveals of the Early Access launch date (December 13th) via Steam Early Access, there have been Q&As on what to expect. Now, there’s another clarification. In a new message to the community, they say that the plan to give access to current pledges through Steam for Early Access launch is “complicated”.
As of now, it seems that if you’ve pledged, you will still get access to the game when Early Access launches, but it may not be possible to access or log in through Steam.
“It has been the plan to allow current pledges to gain access to the game via Steam. We are still working on this possibility, but it does appear to be complicated. With that in mind, current pledges will likely need to continue to access Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen via our own launcher through Early Access.”
While this does make the access process less streamlined on the whole for Early Access, if you’ve been logging in through the launcher all this time anyway, this shouldn’t be disruptive. The team will continue to work on this issue. They promise to update everyone if they learn more on this issue. The most important part is no one is losing access.
If you were thinking of waiting until Steam Early Access to see how things go, you can wishlist the game and later purchase through Steam directly if you want to make sure you can access the game that way.
