Having previously been confirmed for PS5 and PS4 back in October, Croc: Legend of the Gobbos won't be releasing before the year is out.
The remaster was targeting a vague '2024' window, but developer Argonaut Games has decided to delay the game into early 2025.
«This decision was not made lightly,» the studio writes in an official statement. «We believe that a little more time is needed to add the final touches to ensure the game meets the high standards that we aspire to and which you deserve.»
It continues: «We understand that after 27 years of waiting, this news might be a little disappointing, especially with the festive season coming soon [...] We appreciate your patience and support as we work to bring Croc back in the best possible way.»
Hey, we'd much rather have a delay than a wonky remaster of what many consider to be a PS1 classic. Here's hoping that the team smooths everything out over the next few weeks (and possibly months).

Robert (or Rob if you're lazy) is an assistant editor of Push Square, and has been a fan of PlayStation since the 90s, when Tekken 2 introduced him to the incredible world of video games. He still takes his fighting games seriously, but RPGs are his true passion. The Witcher, Persona, Dragon Quest, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy, Trails, Tales — he's played 'em all. A little too much, some might say.
Well what a croc
Seen as I picked up this little beauty today, I may just go get the original Croc until the remake comes out
Glad they are delaying it to make the remaster better.
Rather they took their time with it, will be a day one for me when it’s out though.
Hopefully the Hogs of War remaster is out next year as well
Croc and Croc 2 were all I played back in primary school. So many good memories of being sat at the PC in the dark for hours on end
