Sony brought Naughty Dog boss Neil Druckmann up on stage during its CES 2025 presentation to briefly talk about new game Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, before transitioning to The Last of Us and its forthcoming second season from HBO.
After a short trailer – which shows actress Kaitlyn Dever in the controversial role of Abby, alongside several other scenes from the game, such as the ballroom – he confirmed that the series will premiere in April on HBO and HBO Max. It’ll consist of seven episodes.
The first season of The Last of Us was a colossal success, winning numerous awards, including an Emmy.
Interestingly, The Last of Us 2 Remastered is coming to PC in April as well, so Sony is clearly hoping for a resurgence of interest around the franchise.
