With a Comic-Con panel from Insomniac Games scheduled for tomorrow, the Marvel's Spider-Man 2 studio has begun drumming up excitement early with a new interview and screenshot from Entertainment Weekly. Venom is the focus of this latest marketing beat, with a new image showing off the villain's symbiotic skin and long tongue. It can be viewed above.
In the interview, senior creative director Bryan Intihar speaks of fearing casting the role of Venom due to the importance of it and how people would have an opinion on it. However, coincidentally, Candyman actor Tony Todd had submitted an audition tape for the role at the same time Intihar heard a few of his lines in a trailer for the 2021 version of the film.
«Everything we talked about [with] Venom — that sense of strength, that sense of fear, that sense of overwhelming, so different from Peter — Tony embraces that completely in the performance,» Intihar explained.
More news and announcements are expected out of tomorrow's Symbiotic Relationships panel at Comic-Con, with a story trailer out of Hall H seeming likely. What do you hope to see? Speculate away in the comments below.
