It seems like this year, every developer and publisher in the industry came together and decided to release their biggest titles in the month of October. Alan Wake 2 is one of several games scheduled to be launching during the month, and whether or not releasing so close to other massive games like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Forza Motorsport, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and Assassin’s Creed Mirage (to name just a few) is going to hurt the game’s potential has been a topic of discussion for many.
And it seems Remedy Entertainment has taken notice of those factors as well. Taking recently to Twitter, the developer confirmed that it’s pushing Alan Wake 2’s release date back by 10 days. Though still due out in October, instead of it previously-announced October 17 launch date, it will now come out on October 27.
“October is an amazing month for game launches and we hope this date shift gives more space for everyone to enjoy their favourite games,” the developer wrote.
When it launches Alan Wake 2 will be available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. More details on the game will also be coming later this month with a new showing at Gamescom Opening Night Live.
An update from the Alan Wake 2 team: we're moving Alan Wake 2's launch from October 17 to October 27.
