Remedy has announced that Alan Wake 2 is getting delayed by over a week from October 17 to October 27 to move it away from Spider-Man 2 and Super Mario Bros. Wonder.
While 2023 is already set to be one of the best years in gaming, well, ever thanks to the likes of Baldur's Gate 3, Tears of the Kingdom, Resident Evil 4 Remake having already released, but that's just the start with so many other games coming out in the months to come. Too many, in fact, with October looking incredibly stacked thanks to the likes of Spider-Man 2, Assassin's Creed Mirage, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and Alan Wake 2.

Not only are all those games coming out in the same month, several of them are coming out in the same week. Spider-Man 2 and Super Mario Bros. Wonder are both releasing on the same day, and Alan Wake 2 was previously set to release just a few days before them on October 17, which seemed like a terrible idea considering they're two of the highest-profile releases of the season.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Remedy has announced that, because of that fact, it's going to be delaying Alan Wake 2 by ten days to October 27. Over on Twitter, the official Alan Wake 2 Twitter account shared the new release date, along with this message, "An update from the Alan Wake 2 team: we're moving Alan Wake 2's launch from October 17 to October 27. October is an amazing month for game launches and we hope this date shift gives more space for everyone to enjoy their favorite games. We can't wait to show you what everyone's favorite novelist is up to in the Dark Place next week. Thanks for your patience!"
