New Yuzu Nintendo Switch emulator builds that were released online in the past few days introduce performance and emulation improvements for select titles, such as Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Red Dead Redemption.
Mainline build 1530 introduces more GPU ASTC decoding optimizations, bringing OpenGL ASTC texture decoding performance by ~ 400% and Vulkan ASTC texture decoding performance by ~ 66%. The build also reduces menu stuttering in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom as well as performance improvements by around 10% on AMD GCN 4/polaris cards. This build can also improve Red Dead Redemption's performance by using unsafe CPU accuracy.
Following the release of the Yuzu mainline build 1530, the development team released the Early Access 3823 build, which brings some Red Dead Redemption emulation improvements and more. Release notes for both builds can be found below.
The Red Dead Redemption emulation improvements the latest Yuzu Nintendo Switch emulator builds bring are extremely welcome, as the new version of the game hasn't been released on PC yet, and there is no other way to enjoy it on the platform other than emulating the Switch release.
More information on the Yuzu Nintendo Switch emulator can be found on its official website. The latest mainline build is also available for download for free.
