A new Yuzu Early Access build that was released online this week introduces massive performance improvements for one of the best Nintendo Switch exclusives ever released.
The emulator's Early Access 3840 build introduces improvements for Index buffer estimation as well as performance improvements for Bayonetta 3 by up to 63%, depending on the system configuration. These performance improvements are truly massive, as showcased in a new video shared by reznoire on YouTube, as the game now has no trouble running at steady 60 FPS even in hectic combat sequences.
With these performance improvements, which will eventually make their way onto Yuzu's future mainline builds, playing Bayonetta 3 on PC is set to become the definitive way to enjoy PlatinumGames' action title, considering it is possible to increase resolution way past that of the native version with emulators. Even on Switch, however, the game is more than worthy of a play, as highlighted by Nathan in his review.
Bayonetta 3 is the series’ best entry yet, offering an engaging universe-hopping story, bombastic cinematic moments, and refined action that’s both accessible and deeper than ever before. The game can feel slightly hemmed in on the Switch, but Platinum pummels every bit of possible performance out of the hardware. Whether you and Bayonetta have history or not, this is an engagement not to be missed.
More information on the Yuzu Nintendo Switch emulator can be found on its official website. Early Access builds of the emulator are available only for Patreon subscribers.
