Following its highly anticipated release, The Outlast Trials has officially been banned in Saudi Arabia. As the newest installment in the popular Outlast franchise, The Outlast Trials promises more intense scares than ever. However, players in the Saudi Arabia region are currently unable to play.

When the first Outlast game came onto the scene back in 2013, it was a thrilling new addition to the horror genre. Since then, follow-ups Outlast: Whistleblower and Outlast 2 brought even more heart-pounding survival horror to the forefront. With Outlast 2 being released back in 2017, it was exciting news when The Outlast Trials was officially announced. Not only were fans going to get another entry in the series, but The Outlast Trials promised multiplayer for the first time in the franchise's history. This new take on the Outlast franchise was exciting news for many fans of the series, making it one of the most anticipated horror releases of the year.

Unfortunately, fans in Saudi Arabia who have been looking forward to the game's full release are no longer able to play The Outlast Trials. The abrupt ban seemingly came out of nowhere, leaving players in Saudi Arabia completely unable to experience the game.

Reports from players in Saudi Arabia show that The Outlast Trials is unable to be played in their specific region. Fortunately, players affected by this ban have at least been refunded for their purchase of the game. In the official message given to players, there was no explicit explanation as to why the game had been banned. The Outlast franchise is notorious for being terrifying and incredibly violent, which could possibly have something to do with the ban. From the lore to the survival scenarios, Outlast is one of the most intense horror franchises in recent memory, and the region may have seen banning the game as a necessary action.
