Hi-Fi Rush's Unannounced Switch Port Rated For Release

Hi-Fi Rush's long-rumoured Nintendo Switch port has popped up again, this time in an age rating from the ESRB. This comes more than a month since the PS5 port dropped, and months after a release on the Nintendo console was first reported on.

Despite Hi-Fi Rush now being available on the Sony console, the Switch port is still unannounced. However, this rating from the ESRB serves as further proof that this release of the game does exist, even if it's unclear why publisher Microsoft has been so apprehensive about commenting on it.

In more recent weeks, the rumour has been that Hi-Fi Rush will launch on Nintendo's next-gen console, often referred to as the Switch 2. This was claimed by Insider Gaming in the same report that accurately leaked the release date of the PS5 port, so it's widely assumed that this will be the case.

If so, it's possible that the Switch icon on the ESRB website is just a placeholder for the next console, since Nintendo is yet to confirm that it even exists. Either that or Hi-Fi Rush is coming out on the original Switch after all, particularly as it's rumoured that the Switch 2 won't be with us until early 2025 - possibly a full year after Hi-Fi Rush's PS5 port.

Hi-Fi Rush was ported to PS5 as part of Xbox's strategy to share some of its exclusives. The release was announced alongside three other ports: Pentiment, Sea of Thieves, and Grounded.

However, this is all speculation. It is safe to assume that Hi-Fi Rush will be coming to a Nintendo platform at some point, but we can't say when right now, or if it will run on current hardware. It will be impressive if the older console can keep up with the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, so it's no surprise to see that it's been delayed over the others. Even then, we can't expect the same performance from this port.
