Xbox has its first chance to regain some good faith since its recent studio shutdowns this week as Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 hits the Series X|S and PC on May 21. From the little gamers have gleaned from the closure of Arkane Austin and Tango Gameworks, it feels like the studios' latest projects not moving the needle in terms of money likely played a big part in Xbox's decision. Potentially daunting for the team behind Hellblade 2 since it will launch on Game Pass day one, but there is a way to make sure the game makes money even if you do plan on playing on Game Pass - via buying its merch.
Despite a surprising lack of marketing for Hellblade 2 - I imagine some of you learned it releases this Tuesday by reading this - there is now a pretty extensive range of Hellblade-themed clothes and accessories now available through the Xbox Gear Shop. Xbox is clearly hopeful the sequel will be a big enough hit that its fans want to rep it outside the house, and likely hopeful that people loved the first game enough that they'll be picking up some of the series' older official merch ahead of May 21.
If you like Hellblade 2's cover art, then topping the bill in Xbox's merch line is a carbon copy of that art on a t-shirt. Just the name of the game with Senua surrounded by hands underneath for $29.99. If you'd like something a little different, and you're willing to spend a little more, a black hoodie with the name of the game on the chest and some of its symbols printed down one of the sleeves is now in stock too, available for $39.99.
Xbox launched a t-shirt featuring Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2's covert art to coincide with the release of the sequel on Series X and PC. It features the game's title as well as its protagonist beneath it, surrounded by hands.
