Fallout 4 Next-Gen Update is Now Available for PS Plus Collection Owners

Bethesda dropped the Next-Gen Update for Fallout 4 last week on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, adding native 4K support, free new Creation Club content and more. However, it was beset by issues and confusion, especially regarding who received the upgrade on PS5.

Those who accessed it via PlayStation Plus Extra were eventually in the clear, but the developer had no information for those who claimed the game via PS Plus Essential or PS Plus Collection (which is now defunct). While that’s still the case for the former, players who claimed the game via Collection can now download the update.

In a new tweet, Bethesda Game Studios said, “Thanks for letting us know that some PS Plus subscribers have been unable to access the free Next-Gen Update of Fallout 4 on PlayStation. This issue has now been successfully resolved. Subscribers who have previously received Fallout 4 from the PlayStation Plus Collection should now be able to access the update as intended.”

Whether this could change for PS Plus Essential subscribers or not remains to be seen. Of course, those subscribed to Game Pass can access the Next-Gen Update without any issues.
