As the anticipation for Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 builds, its release date and platforms remain unknown. While the former is rumored to be late October, the Xbox Store listing somewhat resolves the latter. It lists both Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, lining up with rumors that it would still launch for previous-gen consoles.
While there’s little known about the gameplay, Black Ops 6 is rumored to feature a fully open-world campaign. The story allegedly offers a “nuanced” take on the Gulf War and its participants. The recent live-action trailer showcased various political leaders and the conspiracies surrounding them, which seems in line with the rumor.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be revealed during the Xbox Games Showcase on June 9th at 10 AM PT, followed by a Direct presentation diving deeper into various aspects. It’s coming to Game Pass on day one, though that may not include Game Pass Core, per a recent tweet from Summer Game Fest producer Geoff Keighley. As always, stay tuned for more updates in the coming days.
