May 30 has some new to be solved and today's game is filled with some decent misdirections. Sometimes the game loves to throw words together that seem to have a strong match, but are ultimately incorrect.
One of the most important tips for playing the game of is to take your time. There is no benefit in trying to quickly score the answers as time is not a factor. Double and triple-check all your choices before hitting submit so as not to waste your attempts.
Four categories with four words each sounds simple, but the daily challenge of the Connections game can prove difficult without a few tips to help.
Before delving into the fully spoiled answers for the daily, we wanted to provide a few hints in the form of today's categories.
PLUNDER
INFLUENCE
HAIRSTYLES
___ PIN
PLUNDER
LOOT
RAID
ROB
SACK
Yellow was our first score for the day, but not after we lost a few attempts on a name-themed misdirection that caught us up in a loop of bad answers. ROB and RAID were the first two words we noticed and they easily gave away this category. LOOT and SACK quickly joined the ranks and we moved onto our next group.
INFLUENCE
CLOUT
PULL
SWAY
WEIGHT
Green ended up being our leftover words for the day, and the final category we scored. It wasn't that this particular category was difficult or anything, we just happened to notice the others faster. CLOUT and PULL seem like the obvious first connectors here with the others fitting in nicely.
The Spelling Bee puzzles created as a New York Times game build a streak of correct answers to get you more points, but they can be hard to keep.
HAIRSTYLES
BOB
CROP
FADE
SHAG
We scored the blue category in second place today. BOB, CROP, FADE, and SHAG are all hairstyles I sported in middle school. Currently, I'm sticking with the classic BALD and being just fine with that. I'm not upset about it so I don't know why you keep bringing it up. Let's just move on, okay?
Seriously, it's not a big deal, lots of guys are bald.
