Finding the right in today's puzzle may be a bit tricky due to the similarity of words throughout each category. There are a lot of interrelated words and words with double meanings, so a few hints to light your way will not go amiss. With the right categories in mind, you can solve the puzzle and feel confident about your winning streak.

Getting your streak is one thing, but keeping your history positive might be a bit harder at times. There is a lot more logic to think through and many, many words to keep track of. However, with the right logic you can understand where the letters go and what to keep in mind as you go. As usual with these types of games, you will get better with time.

The New York Times Vertex game asks you to form a picture by connecting dots, but you have to understand the image to solve this puzzle quickly.

Knowing the categories should be helpful if you still want to solve the puzzle on your own but with a little nudge from us. However, some of these categories still have crossover, so if you find yourself with one mistake left, you can view the spoiled answers below the table.

This category is an easy one to guess, but a hard one to narrow down. In addition to the words here, HOOK, BOLT, and ROD could all technically fit in here, with HOOK and BOLT being the most frustrating. However, knowing the categories makes it much more manageable than it was for us, as BOLT would easily go with Lightning and HOOK makes the most sense in the next category.

This category is easier once the four previously established words are gone and you can eliminate them from your guesses. And, once those words are gone, it is more obvious that the rest of the words, even if they are unclear, do not fit in with these ones in this context. Even if you do not know much about fishing, there is a phrase, «HOOK, LINE,
