Bethesda's Todd Howard was featured in an hour-long video interview on the latest episode of the Kinda Funny Gamescast and, of course, the Fallout franchise was one of the most prominent topics.
When asked about potential Fallout collaborations with external parties, Howard teased a couple of 'other things' that haven't been announced yet.
I would say we've always had those conversations. We did a lot of things for the show. It might seem like, hey, there isn't a big new game out, but we added content into 76 for the show. 76 has a really great map expansion that's coming this Summer with Skyline Valley. So, we look at what we're doing with the franchise and then we say, do we still feel good about it? I can't reveal it now, but here's our runway for Fallout: season two (of the show) is happening; what are we doing on mobile, what are we doing in 76, what are we doing with this thing, what are we doing with this other thing, when are these landing. Again, if I could snap my fingers and have them all out and ready, I would, but the main thing is, how do we deliver these at a high-quality level? That's always the most important.
One of them is likely to be the Fallout 3 remaster that was leaked during the Microsoft vs FTC trial alongside The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remaster.
Howard also said that Fallout 76 now has the largest amount of active players it's ever had, which made him proud for all the work the team has done to improve the game after the middling launch back in 2018. The Bethesda game designer then talked about Fallout New Vegas, praising Obsidian for their work on that game and teasing that the location will be very important in the show's second season.
