MGM+ has officially welcomed a brand new cast member to the upcoming Season 4, six months since the crime drama’s renewal was announced.
Per Deadline, Daytime Emmy winner Rome Flynn (The Bold and the Beautiful) has joined the ensemble cast of the Godfather of Harlem 4 for a recurring role opposite lead star Forest Whitaker. Prior to the Godfather of Harlem, Flynn previously appeared in hit shows such as How to Get Away with Murder, Dear White People, Raising Dion, and Grey’s Anatomy. He most recently wrapped up his recurring stint on Chicago Fire Season 12, which had just aired its season finale.
Godfather of Harlem is created and executive produced by Chris Brancato and Paul Eckstein (Narcos). Joining Whitaker in the latest season are returning cast members Antoinette Crowe-Legacy, Ilfenesh Hadera (She’s Gotta Have It, Baywatch), Lucy Fry (Bright, Vampire Academy), Antoinette Crowe-Legacy (Geechee, Passing), Erik LaRay Harvey (Boardwalk Empire, Luke Cage), and more. It is executive produced by Whitaker, Nina Yang Bongiovi, James Acheson, and Markuann Smith, with Swizz Beatz serving as the executive music producer. It hails from ABC Signature.
“In Season 4, Bumpy Johnson continues his bloody war for control of Harlem against New York’s Mafia families, while contending with the emergence of a potential rival in newly arrived Black gangster Frank Lucas,” reads the synopsis. “After Malcolm X’s tragic death, Bumpy must also grapple with his daughter Elise’s involvement with the Black Panthers.”
