If you can’t wait to get your fist on Tekken 8 next year, then thankfully you won’t have to! Bandai Namco has announced that a Tekken 8 demo will be out on PlayStation this week, and then for Xbox and PC next week.
The PS5 Tekken 8 demo launches on Friday 14th December, while the Xbox Series X|S and PC (via Steam) versions of the demo will be available one week later on 21st December.

In the Tekken 8 demo, you’ll be able to check out the first chapter of the game’s story, The Dark Awakens, check out the Arcade Quest, as well as delve into a local versus fighting mode. There’s no online multiplayer in this demo, it seems, though there’s already been a closed beta and closed network test for Tekken 8 in the last few months.
It’s been a good while since the developers took the wraps off a lengthy Tekken 8 gameplay deep dive that explored new gameplay mechanics including a new heat system, modified Rage Art system that uses a common input – Rage Drive from Tekken 7 has been removed – and a recover gauge that has some common ground with the Tekken Tag Tournament games. Combine the gameplay changes with cutting edge graphics, and there’s plenty for fighting game fans to look forward to.
The full game release for Tekken 8 is on 26th January 2024.
