Funko has been pretty busy this festive period, although, with more than 13,000 Pops now out in the world, you could argue it's never really not busy. It's not done with 2023 just yet though as first looks at new figures releasing before the end of the year have appeared online. All of them Sonic figures, there appear to be eight Pops in total that will expand Sonic's Funko collection very soon.
The images have been shared by FunkoPopsNews and FunkoPopHunters on social media, and the headliner really depends on who from the Sonic games you like most. For me, the image of a Shadow and Super Shadow two-pack is the reveal leading the way. It's particularly exciting to see Super Shadow get the Pop! treatment since the darker hedgehog's most powerful form rarely appears in the games. The last time Shadow went Super in a non-mobile game was more than 15 years ago.
Super Sonic will also be getting a new Funko Pop! Two of them, in fact, with a Chase version of the figure also revealed. Super Sonic and regular Shadow already have Pops, but these designs are slightly different. The Shadow and Super Shadow figures come with transparent stands to make it look like they're flying, and the Super Sonic Pop! is standing on the ground since the original figure is a faux flying one.
Sonic is also getting a Ring Scatter Pop! A figure modeled after the way Sonic looks in the original games right after he's been hit by an enemy. There even appear to be a few rings included with the figure and Sonic is on a pixel-style grassy platform. More characters are coming too. Eggman, Amy, and Metal Sonic are all getting new Pops and you can check out what their upcoming figures will look like in the post below.
