Korean MMORPG Throne & Liberty will be merging down many of its Korean servers together, bringing a number of changes that these players will need to keep an eye on. The server merge comes in part to bring populations together, reducing queue times on group content and making guild recruitment more viable. Altogether, 18 servers will be merged into a much smaller and manageable 7.
With the migrations and merging come a number of resets to combat progress and economy to ensure better balance, as well as shifts in ranking, according to the Throne and Liberty fansite blog post shared this week.
Firstly, these are the new servers, and the servers being merged into them: :
Characters on the old servers will maintain the core of their progress, including their inventory, kills, and guild statuses.
However, progress in many aspects of PvP, ranks, and the like will be reset, especially if they’re timed. That means, for instance, the Conquest Battles will have all the Boonstones and Riftstones reset, and guilds will have to go in and fight for them again. Activity ranking scores will be reset, as will guild member contributions in the week prior. Plus, item prices and “favorite items” lists will also be reset.
Those participating in the Ranked battles will also have their rewards distributed early based on the server they were coming from at the time of the merge start.
The merging takes place next Wednesday, January 17th, during regular maintenance.
